Could be Worse.......

A father passing by his son's bedroom
was astonished to see that his bed was nicely
made and everything was picked up. Then he saw an
envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow
that was addressed to 'Dad.'

With the worst premonition he opened the envelope
with trembling hands and read the letter.

Dear Dad:

It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you.
I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted
to avoid a scene with Mom and you.

I have been finding real passion with Stacy and she is so nice.

But I knew you would not approve of her because of all her
piercing, tattoos, tight motorcycle clothes and the fact that
she is much older than I am.

But it's not only the passion... Dad she's pregnant.

Stacy said that we will be very happy.
She owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for
the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children.

Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone.

We'll be growing it for ourselves and trading it with the
other people that live nearby for cocaine and ecstasy.

In the meantime we will pray that science will find a cure for
AIDS so Stacy can get better. She deserves it.

Don't worry Dad. I'm 15 and I know how to take care of myself.

Someday I'm sure that we will be back to visit so
that you can get to know your grandchildren.

Love,
Your Son John

P.S. Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at Tommy's house.

I Just wanted to remind you that there are worse things
in life than a report card. That's in my center desk drawer.
I love you.

Call me when it's safe to come home.

Family Time

We are so grateful to have Taylor back full time. I have to admit that life is a whole lot easier with a second pair of hands around here. We were really needing some family time so we took the kids bowling. Always an adventure with our kids. Haha.

We were on our last frame and getting ready to leave when another family started setting up in the lane next to us. We asked the husband if he could take a picture of our family all together. He of course said yes. After the picture was taken we realized who had taken it. It was Steve Stucker, the weatherman and coanchor on KOB.
How random that he would be next to us at the bowling alley!!

What a STUD!!!

Taylor has just completed his last hunting trip for 2010. I couldn't be more thrilled. Don't get me wrong, I love that he hunts! I think that a man that can literally "bring home the bacon" is so attractive and honorable. Its his passion and so I share in his excitement! But I am so anxious to have him home with us.
He had a pretty successful year. We now have 300 lbs of Big Game meat in our freezer. More than enough to sustain our family until next hunting season starts. I'll be busting out the dehydrator any day now to start making some jerky. Raise your hand if you want some!!!!

Wow! November already......REALLY?!

I can't believe its November 1st. Hunting season is coming to an end (Hallelujah!!) and the Holidays are officially upon us. I have a lot of work to do. Its fun work though so no complaining will come from me!
We had a great Halloween this year. We started with the Ward's Annual Trunk or Treat. No pics from that night...I totally forgot and to be honest I was a little busy.
We carved pumpkins a couple weeks ago.

I learned a few things while completing this task alone for the first time.

#1- Wear gloves while cleaning out the pumpkin guts. ICK!
#2- Carving pumpkins should be a man's job.
#3- Kids lose interest very quickly. You're soon to be left alone with no help and no one to keep you entertained.

Our pumpkins turned out FANTASTIC! I'm very proud of myself!!

I scored major points last night with my kiddos. I was a nice mommy and let them trick or treat a few houses even though it was Sunday. I hope I don't get struck my lightning. Haha. There was just no way I was going to keep the kids inside the house and honestly thats just torturous!! Every child needs to get the opportunity to go door to door asking for candy. Its a great thing!
