Potty Talk

Who would have thought I would be so focused on certain bodily fluids and bowel movements? During the last few days of Cody being potty trained my life has literally gone to the toilet. HA HA. But I am happy to say we are DONE!! He has got this thing down. He tells me when he has to go and can even do it by himself. YAY for Cody, and YAY for me!! He is the third child I have potty trained successfully, now only one more left. Woo Hoo!! Hey, is that something I can put on my resume?

Zoo

We had a great day today!! Some friends of ours (the Buys) invited us to go to the zoo with them. With our families together we have 7 children under the age of 6. It is always chaotic to say the least, but we love every minute of it. I kept trying to get good pictures but as you can see I failed miserably.

Relief Society

The funniest thing happened to me on Sunday. I was sitting in Relief Society enjoying the peace and quiet when I heard the door opening. I look over to see who it was and in came running Cody holding his diaper area. At the top of his lungs he screams out "Hurry mommy, I have to go pee!!" Immediately my face turns bright red and I jump up to grab his hand. I could hear the soft snickers of laughter coming from the other moms. There were a couple things wrong with this situation. #1- We never use the word PEE in my house, I think it sounds rude. #2- We never yell in church. #3- Cody is not even potty trained!!!
I was so confused but went ahead and took him to the bathroom where he proceeded to sit on the toilet and try to go potty. Of course nothing came out....his diaper was soaking wet. We washed his hands and I took him back to nursery.
I was seriously not ready for this time in my life. Running to the toilet every 10 minutes, wet underwear, knowing where every public restroom is located in the Albuquerque area. Despite all these frustrations, I decided that this morning (Tuesday) maybe he was ready to start potty training. I did not want to be the reason he still wears diapers. So, I made him a "Potty Chart" and told him all about how it works. He was jumping up and down with excitement. It is now 1:00 in the afternoon and he has stayed dry all day and told me every time when he is ready to go potty. About every 15-20 minutes. Woo Hoo for me!!! I sure hope he sticks to it. Unfortunately, I am now tied to my house for the next week while we become professionals!!

Monster Truck Jam

Taylor (being the amazing husband and father that he is) took Cooper, Natalie, and 2 of their friends to the Monster Truck Jam on Saturday night. The kids had a blast!! The kids said that it was really loud but that it was a lot of fun. Thank you Taylor.

I am behind on updating because we have had quite a bit of sickness passed around our family. These last couple of months have been a real killer. Here are a couple of pics of Eli since he is the one that is doing the most growing!! He is now 4 months old...WOW time flies!!

Who Has More Fun? Blondes or Brunettes?

For the last couple of months I have been considering dying my hair brown. I am tired of the maintenance and money I have spent on highlighting my hair blonde. I am thinking it might be cheaper to have it brown instead. What do you guys think? Am I crazy? Help me make a decision!!

Alone.......AGAIN!!

Close your eyes and picture my house. It is 5:26pm on a Wednesday.....Cooper is sitting at the kitchen table attempting to do homework while Cody is climbing on the table trying to color on whatever he can get his hands on. Cody is crying because Cooper won't let him scribble on his homework. Eli is in the swing but screaming because he is ready to be fed and I am the only one that can satisfy him. Natalie is trying to calm him down but sadly making his screaming worse. Meanwhile, I am in the kitchen looking for something to cook for dinner. I finally scrounge up some food and get cooking. As soon as I get it on the table I sit down to feed Eli. AAHHH, silence. Not even 2 seconds later I hear a crash on the floor!! Just when I thought nothing else could add to the chaos Cody dropped his bowl on the floor spilling/splattering all of its contents (soup) all over my floor and table. Cody starts crying. This was the second time he had spilled a bowl FULL of food today. I hold back from freaking out, quietly clean up the mess and fill another bowl for him. HELP!!!
Taylor's work requires him to travel quite a bit. Tonight is one of those times. The trips are never very long but long enough for me to anxiously await his return. I did not mind much in the beginning because it allowed me some alone time with the children and for once I got to control the TV remote in the evenings. I could do whatever I wanted and not have to answer to anyone. For some reason (maybe the new addition to our family) his short times away from the family have become very difficult for me. I used to think that I could do everything on my own, with no help from Taylor, but all of a sudden I stand corrected. The last couple of times he has left I noticed that his help and support is greatly missed when he is away. I have a hard time holding it all together. Mostly emotionally, I need him here to listen to me when I need to vent frustrations. He should be back tomorrow night. Hopefully I can stand strong until he gets home!!!
